Sharon Stone's devastating loss as ex-husband is awarded full custody of eight-year-old son

Sharon Stone has lost custody of her eight-year-old son to her ex-husband Phil Bronstein.

American TV show Entertainment Tonight reports that it has obtained a court order confirming that the actress no longer has physical custody of Roan, despite her pleas to change the arrangement.

The couple had joint custody of their adopted son in October last year, it is not known why this has changed.

According to court documents from a September 12 custody hearing newspaper editor Bronstein: 'Shall have permanent sole physical custody of child.'

It continues: 'Court finds that Respondent (Sharon Stone) failed to meet her burden of proof and denies Respondent's (Sharon Stone's) request for modification of custody. The judge also notes this order is permanent unless there is a change of circumstances.'

Previous court documents from October last year stated that the former couple had 'joint legal and physical custody'.

Stone and Bronstein divorced in early 2004. Sharon is also mother to adopted sons Laird Vonne, three and Quinn Kelly, two.

The 50-year-old is currently dating Chase Dreyfous, who is more than half her age at 24.

The Basic Instinct star was pictured earlier this month looking completely smitten as she emerged from Malibu's Marmelade Cafe with her him in tow.

The unlikely pair first met in early July while working together on Sharon’s charity, Planet Hope.

Weeks later they were spotted getting cozy at a party thrown by fashion designer Christian Audigier on in Los Angeles.
