Heavily pregnant Louise Redknapp goes for the comfy option as she hits the shops

Heavily pregnant Louise Redknapp went shopping for some last minute essentials with husband Jamie today.

The singer's second baby with the ex-footballer is due around her 34th birthday on November 4.

For their walk around London's Notting Hill Louise chose to put comfort first in sturdy leather boots and a draped blue jersey sweater.

Louise, already mother to four-year-old Charley, is said to have put on three stone during her pregnancy.

According to Now magazine she is worried she will not be able to lose the weight in time to meet her work commitments in the new year.

'Being slim and toned gives her confidence,' a friend told the magazine.

'Exercise is vital to her and she's turned to yoga. She clings to it like a lifeline and says she'll be doing her exercises right up until the day she gives birth.'

But despite her weight gain Louise was thrilled to fall pregnant after just a month of trying, after suffering from womb condition endometriosis before her first pregnancy.

'We felt we'd have the same problems as last time,' she said. 'I just feel incredibly lucky.'

Louise Redknapp's pregnant glow was on full beam during a romantic getaway in Italy with her husband Jamie yesterday.

The radiant 33-year-old proudly showed off her growing baby bump as she strolled around the pool of a luxury resort of Porto Carvo, Sardinia, in a strapless black bikini and low slung skirt.

The couple, who are 'delighted' to be expecting their second child, looked happier than ever during their afternoon in the sun.

At one point, Jamie attentively caressed his wife's belly and the pair later giggled the day away as they reclined on loungers.

Louise has previously said she was stunned to discover she'd conceived so quickly this time around after it took her four years to fall pregnant with their first child, Charley.

She suffering from the womb condition endometriosis and underwent two laser surgery operations to correct it.

Louise, who is now four months pregnant, revealed: 'It was just absolute shock when I found out.

'It took me four years to have Charley and so this time, after just a month, it was very unexpected. We had talked about having another baby and we kind of expected the same problems as last time.'

'When I did the pregnancy test, I nearly fell off the chair. My friend popped in and I dragged her upstairs and said, "You've got to look at this. Am I reading it wrong?"'

'I rang Jamie straight away. He was absolutely delighted.

It was such a relief to think I wouldn't have to go through all that treatment to get pregnant again. The doctors don't know why it has been so much easier this time - it's just the luck of the draw I guess.'

Since taking time out of her solo career in 2004, Louise has turned to TV presenting and modelling.

She became the host of Clothes Show last year and has also been named the new face of Triumph lingerie.
