Cheryl Cole turns heads with skimpy shorts and a cheeky message

Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole had a rather cheeky message for onlookers during her recent visit to Los Angeles.

The singer, who kept it very casual in skimpy white hotpants, boots and a fedora, flashed up a sign which read "Kiss My Ass" during a shopping trip through the city. Cheryl Cole1

Cheryl, who made the Stateside visit to star in a new TV show Passions and film a video clip with her band, made time to soak up the sights with a visit to the popular Venice Beach.

Later, Cheryl was joined by her Girls Aloud pal Sarah Harding, for a spot of sunbathing by their hotel pool.

After a few hours of rest and relaxation, the girls emerged all glammed up on Malibu beach at around midnight to shoot a slick new video for their new single, 'Call The Shots'.

As well as working on the new album, the group, which includes Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, and Kimberley Walsh, recently recorded two tracks for Radio 1's anniversary album, 'Radio 1 Established 1967'.

They covered Wheatus' 'Teenage Dirtbag' while also teaming up with indie rockers Franz Ferdinand for a version of David Bowie's classic 'Sound and Vision'.

Cheryl recently quashed rumours she was preparing to leave the band for a solo career and was outraged when songwriter Alison Clarkson, also known as Betty Boo, gave a radio interview claiming that Cheryl had asked her to write a song just for her.

Cheryl said: "We're still finishing the new album, which I have to say is our best yet.

“I'm not sure why anyone would think I would want to work on a solo album now.”

She concluded: "It's sad that people have to say these things to get a little bit of publicity off the back of us."
