Ram Gopal Varma Making movie on Nityananda sex scandal
Ram Gopal Varma is all set to launch his next film, God And Sex. Sources close to Ramu said the film has been inspired by the life of godman Swami Nityananda, who has been in the news for his alleged sex scandal.
Buzz up!
"God And Sex is a film I intend to make. It will take a deep hard look at the world of godmen. It will focus on how these so-called representatives of God continue to con gullible devotees to satisfy their diverse needs," Ramu said.
"Most swamis in the country are looked up to as almost Gods. Yet many of them are exposed from time to time. Sometimes by the media and at other times by those close to them. Many a time, their sex drive has been found to be the reason for the same," he added.
Ramu said that God And Sex was inspired by a recent sex scandal involving one such popular swami.
"God And Sex will, once and for all, explore, examine and expose everything that goes on behind the closed doors of ashrams of godmen. There are so many godmen who are privy to celebrities' secrets and there's so much of power-brokering going on God And Sex will expose all that."
Currently, Ramu is in the process of developing the script of God And Sex. "I haven't decided yet who will direct the film or whom I will cast in the film. Once the scripting is done, I will take a call."
Vivek Oberoi's Guru?
Is there any truth in the buzz that God And Sex is inspired by Swami Nityananda who was Vivek Oberoi's guru?
"No comments," is Ramu's succinct reply.
Vivek was a staunch believer of the Swami and had met him several times. He would call him the 'cool dude swami'.

About Nityananda
Godman Swami Nityananda quit as head of his ashram Dhyanapeetam after a video footage showing him in a sexual act with two women was telecast a few weeks ago. A TV channel in Chennai had telecast Swami's alleged bedroom acts with a Tamil actress. Nityananda claims to have 45 lakh devotees spread across 17 countries.
Swami of Sex
Douglas McKellor, an American national and once a disciple of Swami Nityananda, accused Nityananda of sexually exploiting his American devotees.
"Nityananda was fond of pretty girls. While he was at Sanatan Dharma temple in Norwalk, California, for a two-day workshop on spirituality, he asked me to stand outside the door to ensure no one disturbed him while he was with female guests," he said in his complaint.
It was reported that Nityananda used to visit his California ashram quite often. In the US, he would dress in denims and T-shirts. He was reportedly fond of striptease parties with pretty girls.
McKellor added that Nityananda used to eat his meals and rest with young girls in his private quarters at the cult organisation's Norwalk and Montclair ashrams. The swami had named attractive girls 'flowers' and used to say that they are a 'must item' for his puja.
